The Camden Campaign for Children's Literacy (CCCL) is an initiative of the Rutgers University - Camden Center for Children and Childhood Studies. It aims to prepare children to read before they enter school and to promote literacy as a key to intellectual development and economic success. Please note that the Childcare Literacy Training Program has evolved into the CCCS Professional Development Pathways Initiative for Early Childhood Educators in Camden.

The first CDA Candidates Recognition Ceremony of the Childcare Literacy Training Program took place in the Rutgers-Camden Campus Center's Lounge with standing room available only. It was a wonderful, moving evening with many smiling faces celebrating the achievements of the awardees.

CCCL Kick-Off Event. This first major Camden Campaign for Children's Literacy event took place on the Rutgers-Camden campus four days after 9/11. It was a huge success.

CCCL 03 Summer Celebration
The Camden Campaign for Children’s Literacy Summer Celebration was held on September 13th from 12 to 4 p.m. Despite the rainy weather, over 425 children and parents attended the event that was moved indoors to the Camden Campus Center.
