CDA Award Recipient The CCCS Professional Development Pathways Initiative (PDPI) for Early Childhood Educators in Camden, a branch of the Camden Literacy Campaing, launches its new website.

The Childcare Literacy and Professional Development Initiative kicked off the Camden City Directors’ Academy by engaging 17 local child care center directors and assistant directors in the first of a series of 12 seminars provided through June.

August 6th, 2004. The first Child Development Associate (CDA) Candidates Recognition Ceremony took place in the Rutgers-Camden Campus Center's Lounge with standing room available only. It was a wonderful, moving evening with many smiling faces celebrating the achievements of the awardees.

Storyteller Lamont Dixon presented “The Cat in the Hat” at the Camden Free City Library, bringing creativity and imagination to over 50 children. The performance was held in celebration of Dr. Seuss’s birthday.

On July 10, 2003 Oni Lasana presented “Down on the Farm with Granny Goose” at the Camden Free City Library. Part of the Camden Campaign for Children’s Literacy’s Library Outreach Initiative. This program was specifically designed for Pre-K to 3rd grade.

On May 3rd, the Camden Campaign for Children’s Literacy (CCCL) was recognized as an Outstanding Community Program at the Literacy Volunteers of America (LVA) Camden County Chapter’s 18th Annual Recognition Day.

Psi Chi Adopts Literacy Campaign. The Camden Chapter of Psi Chi, the National Honor Society for psychology majors, has decided to adopt the Camden Campaign for Children's Literacy as one of their projects. >>> more
