Kirsten
Smith is perhaps best known for co-writing the
comedies
Legally Blonde, 10 Things I Hate About You, Ella
Enchanted and the upcoming She's
the Man, starring Amanda Bynes.
Smith’s first book, The Geography of Girlhood,
is a novel-in-poems, set for publication in March 2006 by Little,
Brown about a girl navigating the difficult limbo between
youth and adult-hood. Her award-winning poetry has appeared
in numerous publications, including The Mississippi Review,
Witness, and The Sun.
The feature film, "10 Things I Hate About You" will
be shown in the Rutgers-Camden Campus Center on Thursday, March 2, 2006.
On
Friday, March 3, Kirsten will discuss
her career as a screenwriter and her new book, The
Geography of Girlhood.
