Camden Students Attend Career Fair in Allied Health Professions
Dr. Bill Whitlow's Allied Health Sciences EXPO again brought enthusiastic middle school students from Camden to the Rutgers-Camden's Campus Center. On January 15, 2003 the 8th annual Science Expo took place which is designed to allow students in Camden learn about careers in the allied health sciences. Allied health professionals attend the Expo to demonstrate medical techniques and research activities with hands-on activities.Co-sponsored by the Science Preparation Alliance of Rutgers and Camden (SPARC) program and the Center for Children and Childhood Studies this annual event exposes 8th grade students to careers in health care and the allied health sciences.

Exhibitors included -as in previous years- research centers, such as the Monell Chemical Senses Center and Coriell; teaching institutions, such as UMDNJ, Camden County College, Temple University and Rutgers University; area hospitals, such as the Cooper Health System, Our Lady of Lourdes and Virtua Health; and other health care providers.
...and the Camden Campaign for Children's Literacy was represented with REACH OUT and READ ... always recruiting for volunteers to help shape children's interests and develop a love for books...

Students get a chance to explore how the heart functions
The expressions on the faces of the young EXPO participants prove that science can be interesting.... as well as fun....
