Library
Resources
The Paul
Robeson Library and the Rutgers
University Library System are the best places to get aquainted with
the literature of a specific field. Not
only are there stacks of shelves with books on every imaginable topic
related to childhood studies, the Library also features a large collection
of periodicals, indexes and databases, and its staff assists patrons
with specialized requests, such as
- Vibiana
Bowman, MLS, developed a pamplet
with library resources (PDF). It contains major reference resources
related to childhood studies with call numbers and selected electronic
indexes to journals at the Rutgers Camden Library.
- Assistance
and access to library materials for users with special needs include:
a Kurzweil reader, WindowsEyes software, and a page enlarger
for the use of the visually impaired. The Paul Robeson Library
is committed to providing quality information services to
all our users. If you have any special concerns contact the
Paul Robeson Library ADA coordinator, Elizabeth Hart, lhart@camden.rutgers.edu,
or call (856) 225-6033, ext. 10.
-
Access to library resources from office or home including: Interlibrary
Loan services; on-line book renewal; on-line article requests; Rutgers
Request Service for delivery of materials from other Rutgers libraries.
- On-line
access to several thousand full
text journals and specialized
bibliographic databases.
- On-site
research assistance and consultation with the department
librarian.
More Resources for the Faculty
- Faculty can
schedule
bibliographic sessions for their classes with a department librarian.
These sessions are customized to meet the research needs of the students
with regard to the papers that they will be writing for that class.
Custom web pages relating to library resources for a particular class
or assignment can be designed as well.
- Other support
services that the Paul Robeson Library provides to the teaching faculty
include: customized handouts for your class; assistance with designing
library related assignments for your syllabus; general orientation
sessions to the library and our resources; assistance with placing
materials on reserve; and ordering books in support of course work.
For more information contact your library
liaison.
