The Child Development Associate Credential (CDA)
The CDA program through the RUCCCS’ Professional Development Pathways
Initiative meets the mandates of the Council for Professional
Recognition by providing training in each of the required eight
modules:
- Planning a safe, healthy, learning environment
- Steps to advance children's physical and intellectual development;
- Positive ways to support children's social and emotional development;
- Strategies to establish productive relationships with families;
- Strategies to manage an effective program operation;
- Maintaining a commitment to professionalism;
- Observing and recording children's behavior; and
- Principles of child development and learning.

Unique to RUCCCS, our CDA courses are tailored to the specific
specializations within the field of early childhood education.
RUCCCS offers the CDA through four distinct tracks:
- Infant/Toddler
- Preschool
- Family Child Care/Home Based Care
- Spanish
