What do childhood studies experts say about....?
In this new CCCS web series childhood studies faculty share their knowledge and expertise as they discuss various topics related to their work with children.

The first topic is READING. Some faculty members have agreed to share with us how they make reading an important part of their families' routine and we have posted a collection of annotated bibliographies of multicultural children's books.

MULTICULTURAL BOOKS FOR CHILDREN new

Multicultural Children's books Thanks to a grant from the Bildner Multicultural Fund, Dr. Carol Singley and her students compiled four bibliographies of multicultural children's books: 1) Multicultural Children's Literature; 2) Multicultural Folk Tales and Fairy Tales; 3) Multicultural Fantasy Collections for elementary school children; and 4) Multicultural Fantasy Books for middle school children. Some of the books they selected are now part of the permanent collection of the Paul Robeson Library, Rutgers-Camden, and are available through IRIS, the on-line card catalog system.
CCCS is proud to share these great resources with our online visitors. Short summaries and links to amazon.com are provided for each book.
