The
Center for Children and Childhood Studies was established
at Rutgers-Camden four years ago by Dr.
Myra Bluebond-Langner, Professor II of Anthropology,
to promote understanding, enrichment and the recognition
of the significance of the experiences of childhood through
research, education, and service and outreach.
Professor
Bluebond-Langner stepped down as director of CCCS at the
end of 2004 to focus more fully on her research, Decision
Making for Children with Cancer When Cure Is Not Likely.
She was awarded a fellowship from the National Endowment
for the Humanities (NEH) which afforded her
the opportunity to
devote the
next year to this important scholarly work. |
